Terms of Service

1. Definitions

• Service — the WP Citadel platform, including the WordPress plugin, monitoring functionality and dashboard.
• User — any person or organisation that creates an account or uses the service.
• Provider — WP Citadel.
• Subscription — a free or paid plan that grants access to (parts of) the service.

2. Applicability

These terms apply to all agreements and use of the service.

• By creating an account or using the service, the user accepts these terms.

3. Use of the service

• The service may only be used for lawful purposes.
• The user is responsible for securing their login credentials.
• Accounts may not be shared, rented or resold.
• Abuse — including overloading, automated attacks, unauthorised access attempts or other harmful behaviour — may result in immediate termination without refund.
• When using Google or GitHub SSO, the user agrees to the terms and privacy policies of the respective provider.
• The user is responsible for correct configuration of the plugin on their WordPress installations.

4. Subscriptions and payments

• Payments are processed via LemonSqueezy.
• By subscribing, the user agrees to LemonSqueezy’s terms.
• All prices are in euros and exclusive of VAT unless stated otherwise.
• Monthly subscriptions renew monthly.
• Annual subscriptions renew annually.
• No refunds are issued for early cancellation.
• The provider may adjust prices with at least 30 days’ notice.

5. Free plan and trial period

• The free plan is limited to one connected site.
• Paid plans include a 7-day trial; billing starts after the trial ends.
• The provider may change or discontinue the free plan.

6. Availability

• The provider aims for 99.5% annual availability.
• Planned maintenance will be announced where possible.
• The provider is not liable for damage resulting from (temporary) unavailability.

7. Liability

• Liability is limited to the amount paid in the previous 12 months.
• The provider is not liable for indirect or consequential damage.
• No liability for loss of profit or revenue.
• No liability for data loss on WordPress sites.
• No liability for incorrect or incomplete data provided by the user.
• No liability for configuration or security issues on the user’s WordPress installations.

8. Intellectual property

• The service, including source code, design and documentation, is owned by WP Citadel.
• The plugin is licensed for use on the user’s own installations.
• Copying, modifying, reverse-engineering or distributing the plugin is prohibited without written permission.

9. Data processing

• The service collects technical data from connected WordPress sites (such as plugin versions, PHP version, uptime status and error logs).
• The user is responsible for informing their own clients where required under GDPR.
• Data is stored on Hetzner servers located in Finland and Germany, within the European Union.

10. Termination

• The user may terminate their account at any time.
• The provider may terminate accounts in case of violations or abuse.
• No refunds are issued for already paid periods.

11. Governing law and disputes

• These terms are governed by Dutch law.
• Disputes will preferably be resolved amicably.
• If not possible, disputes will be submitted to the competent court in the provider’s district.

12. Changes

• The provider may update these terms.
• Changes will be announced at least 30 days in advance.
• Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
